Words of Comfort Hope and Promise

Summer 2011

Dear Friends of Our Military,

Words of Comfort, Hope & Promise is a 501 (C)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the support of our troops and their families as they make the ultimate sacrifices to protect and defend our freedom.  We would like to share with you two of our major current projects.

On August 20^th, we will be helping to support a Family Day beach party for First Marine Headquarters Group (1MHG) by providing gifts and door prizes for the Marines and their family members.

Then, on September 24^th, we will be sponsoring a Family Day beach party for the 3^rd Assault Amphibian Battalion at Del Mar Beach (Camp Pendleton).  We will be helping to provide lots of food and fun for all, including carnival-type games for the kids; and door prizes and contests for the Marines and spouses including karaoke, dance, tug of war, and watermelon- and pie-eating!  

We have found that our military families LOVE winning prizes!  We love to bless them with gifts that many of them could not afford on their own. Therefore, we would be most grateful if you could donate any gifts/door prizes for these events such as those listed below.

*Surf Boards, Boogie Boards, Beach Chairs and Beach Towels, Beach Bags

* Surfing Gear and Lessons (most requested!), Beachwear, Wetsuits,

*Weekend or one-week Timeshare Getaway Gift Certificates

Gift cards and certificates may be mailed to the above address.  To arrange for pickup of larger items, please call me at (949) 637-7615. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, it will help us to purchase the items we need.  We accept all major credit cards; you may donate securely at www.comforthopeandpromise.org, or please send your check payable to: Words of Comfort, Hope & Promise to the above address.  All donations are tax deductible.

We have now had our troops on the ground in Afghanistan for ten years.  It is important that we show our support and gratitude for the great sacrifices they make for our freedom; therefore, won’t you please consider giving back today with a generous donation in their behalf?  We are able to continue this support to our very deserving military families through the generous support of the American people.  Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
