Cynthia Martinez is an author, speaker, singer, and Founder/President of Words of Comfort, Hope & Promise.
|
She was inspired to write a book after 9/11 titled “America in Crisis.” Cynthia has given over five thousand copies to our troops serving in Iraq and their families. She is dedicated to offer comfort, hope and moral support to our military service men
and women and their families.

Cynthia has been invited by various organizations to speak about her military outreach and is rounding up support from community leaders, civic groups, business and church groups to get involved. Her goal is to send a message to our troops overseas and their families that we care and support them.

Cynthia received an appreciation letter & certificate from General George W. Casey Jr., United States Army Chief of Staff and Pete Geren, Secretary of Army for supporting the Army National Guard during their deployment.

Cynthia and her team were presented with a beautiful award from the 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion at their Christmas party in Dec. 2008.

Cynthia was honored to receive the "The Spirit of Hope Award" Also known as "The Bob Hope Award" during a special ceremony at the Pentagon in Arlington VA October 28th, 2008 on behalf of her dedication to support our troops and their families. Paxton, MajorGen, USMC Chief of Staff, Multi-National Force-Iraq and the Command Group sent Cynthia and her team a flag of the United States of America that was flown over the Al Faw Palace aboard Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom on March 15, 2008, in recognition of their commitment and dedication in supporting the service men and women in Multi-National Force---Iraq.

Cynthia was honored to receive "The President's Volunteer Service Award" on behalf of all the wonderful volunteers that help her support our troops and their families. The award was presented along with a letter signed by President Bush.

Cynthia Martinez was honored to receive an American flag by Captain Derek Heath which was flown on Dec 12, 2007 aboard a C-17 Globemaster 111 over Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom and over Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The flag was given to her along with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Boyce U.S.Marine Corps from Marine Security sent Cynthia and her team a certificate and the American flag that was flown over the United States Embassy in Baghdad during Operation Iraqi Freedom by the Marines of Marine Security Force-Baghdad (MSF-B) of the First Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company 1st Fast Company on the 17th Day of March 2008.

Her organization helped sponsor a dinner for the wounded who returned home from Iraq.

During Brigadier General Nicholson’s tour in Iraq, he honored Cynthia by sending her the American flag that was flown over the headquarters of Regimental Combat team 5 at Camp Fallaujah, Iraq on the 4th of July 2006, Independence Day for her continued support for the Marines and Sailors of Regiment Combat team 5 during Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Global War on Terrorism.
