Annual Operation Thanksgiving Feast at Camp Pendleton 2017
San Clemente, CA

Words of Comfort, Hope and Promise (WOCHP), a non-profit organization that serves those in the U.S. Armed Forces and families, celebrated another Thanksgiving at Camp Pendleton, honoring the Marines and Sailors of the 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion. This year's event hosted an attendance of about 250 people.

The troops were served a large selection of food including turkey, mashed potato and gravy, sweet potatoes, scalloped potatoes, stuffing, green beans, cornbread and casserole. Desserts included pumpkin pie, apple pie and jello cake. All of these homemade delicacies were made or donated by volunteers.

The event was kicked off by a beautiful prayer. Our troops were able to participate in a raffle, where various prizes were handed out, including big flat-screen TVs, kindly donated by donors. Other prizes included gift cards to various retailers such as Red Robin. This year, the troops' families were invited and the children were able to enjoy the great food and companionship.

WOCHP president and founder, Cynthia Martinez, thanked the troops and the volunteers for a great event.
