Operation Christmas Care Packages
The American Eagle Alliance, an association of business, religious, and political organizations which support patriotic causes, are working with Words of Comfort, Hope, and Promise, based in San Clemente, to make Christmas a bit merrier for the troops serving overseas.
And this weekend, you can help.
The program is called Joy to the Troops.
Everyone is invited to contribute to this effort by donating any of the following items:
Candy canes, instant coffee packets, tea bags and packets, powdered drink mixes, packaged cookies, packaged crackers with peanut butter or cheese, packaged granola bars, canned fruits and nuts, chewing gum, Cup O’ Noodles, beef jerky, baby wipes, foot powder, heavy cotton socks, AT&T calling cards, playing cards, personal letters and Christmas cards addressed to “Dear Patriot.”
Tax deductible monetary donations can be made as follow:
Credit Card donations can go to WOCHP Donations
Checks payable to “Words of Comfort, Hope, and Promise” at 63 Via Pico Plaza #418, San Clemente, CA 92672
Items can be delivered to any of the participating organizations listed below, or drop them off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Joy to the Troops fair, 1164 E. Highland Avenue (near the east end of Perris Hill Park).
Candy canes will be given to the first 100 children who donate any item on the list above.
Fill out a Christmas card to be sent to the troops. Many of the members of the American Eagle Alliance will be present with goods to sell and literature to distribute. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated.
Operation Christmas Care Packages is an annual program hosted by WOCHP, in collaboration with other organizations. With the support of volunteers and contributors, we are able to come together to create care packages for military personnel overseas who are unable to spend Christmas with their families. Please donate to Operation Christmas Care Packages to keep this great program going each year, and to touch the lives of our brave men and women overseas.
